Holy moly! Now, that’s a cannoli!

We have always offered traditional Italian sweets, such as tiramisu and gelato, and dessert specials, such as torta caprese and panna cotta.

Now, you can enjoy a delicious cannoli at Tutta Bella, too!

“Very early on, we came to the conclusion that we wanted to serve a cannoli at Tutta Bella, but we could not find a shell that we felt met our standards of quality,” said Executive Chef Brian Gojdics. “We go long and far to source the best ingredients that we can, and there are no exceptions to that rule. A few weeks ago we had a shell presented to us by one of our trusted partners in Italy, and it was just perfect.”

What is a Cannoli?

According to Wikipedia ~ Cannoli are Italian pastries that originated on the island of Sicily and are today a staple of Sicilian cuisine as well as Italian-American cuisine. Cannoli consist of tube-shaped shells of fried pastry dough, filled with a sweet, creamy filling usually containing ricotta.

“The best ingredients and the proper shell to fill ratio makes the best cannoli.  If that is off, the cannoli is off,” explains Gojdics. “I also prefer a crispy shell, but outside of the shell, nothing more than ricotta, sugar, vanilla and a scant amount of cinnamon.  Scant to the point that you shouldn’t even notice the cinnamon. It’s a back note. “

Our version of this authentic Sicilian pastry features classic ricotta cream, mini chocolate chips and crushed pistachios with a crispy shell sourced straight from the birthplace of cannoli, Sicily!

The cannoli is a featured dessert special starting Monday, February 25 and will remain on the dessert menu indefinitely.
